Ooo!

A good argument diluted to avoid criticism is not nearly as good as the undiluted argument, because we best arrive at truth through a process of honest and vigorous debate. Arguments should not sneak around in disguise, as if dissent were somehow sinister. One should not be cowed by criticism.

In my humble opinion, those who come to engage in debates of consequence, and who challenge accepted wisdom, should expect to be treated badly. Nonetheless, they must stand undaunted. That is required. And that should be expected. For it is bravery that is required to secure freedom.
Justice Clarence Thomas Speech at the American Enterprise Institute, May 2001

When another’s principles are based upon fallacy and devoid of reason, when logic is convoluted and infinitely mutable, and all rhetorical and perceptual roads lead to a foregone, preferential conclusion, it is folly to engage that individual. In such cases, the flawed pretext of granting our errant fellows their fair and evenhanded due is recklessness.
Erik Rush, Sept. 2009

All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.
— Arthur Schopenhauer, German philosopher (1788 – 1860)

The Truth is out there, but few can tolerate it. We blindly swallow whatever we are told by our governments, our religious leaders, the media, and celebrities who spout off about subjects they do not understand. So take a look at these links, if you dare!

USA – The Republic and How You Lost It

Politics: The Quigley Formula

The CFR embraces members of both major American political parties. It is not a partisan organization. Voters are led to believe that, by choosing between the Democrat and Republican parties, they have a choice. They think they are participating in their own political destiny, but that is an illusion. To a collectivist like Professor Quigley, it is a necessary illusion to prevent the voters from meddling into the important affairs of state. If you have ever wondered why the two American parties appear so different at election time but so similar afterward, listen carefully to Quigley’s approving overview of American politics:

The National parties and their presidential candidates, with the Eastern Establishment assiduously fostering the process behind the scenes, moved closer together and nearly met in the center with almost identical candidates and platforms, although the process was concealed as much as possible, by the revival of obsolescent or meaningless war cries and slogans (often going back to the Civil War). … The argument that the two parties should represent opposed ideals and policies, one, perhaps, of the Right and the other of the Left, is a foolish idea acceptable only to the doctrinaire and academic thinkers. Instead, the two parties should be almost identical, so that the American people can “throw the rascals out” at any election without leading to any profound or extreme shifts in policy. … Either party in office becomes in time corrupt, tired, unenterprising, and vigorless. Then it should be possible to replace it, every four years if necessary, by the other party, which will be none of these things but will still pursue, with new vigor, approximately the same basic policies.

I have just seen your problems with nobdysfool of CF fame. Google this guy and it well be seen he is the ‘List Keeper’ of the Free Republic Ping List. Looking at the Free Repblic website can be mind boogling.

    Copied from website http://bluebluekitty.blogspot.com/

“Hello! I’m breaking on the blogscene with a little expose on Free Republic. Are hateful comments on that site posted by “trolls” or is this behavior typical traffic? If they are “trolls” then shouldn’t these users be banned? Decide for yourself. Posts are duplicated verbatim with editor comments in []. Links are active as of the time of posting.”

Seems like this site is for White Supremists hence my request to see if these posts are from “trolls” as it contains really nasty stuff against non whites, women and much more. No answer from them yet.

Just googled nobdysfool, looks like he has blown a gasket on his blog on CF .

  • http://bluebluekitty.blogspot.com/ bluebluekitty

If one can be bothered then google “The Free Republic Ping List”. Many of the members on that list are staff at CF. E.G drstevej.

My suspicion is that CF is in fact a propaganda site of some sort. Which is why Christians get such a hammering there. Only a theory. If anyone knows more then please let us all know.

Greetings, bluebluekitty! Welcome to my blog.

I have googled this guy ‘fool, and it ain’t a pretty picture. But to say more would be construed by him as “stalking” even though he engages in it himself. But I can’t say I’m surprised, either by his being the FR list keeper or the content of the site there. I used to be a tech admin at another conservative board, and the comments would be very familiar to anyone from FR. They will tell you it’s just venting, but it can’t be healthy to vent 24/7. One would think that the members are still in junior high school, with all the obsession about bodily functions and gratuitous cursing, not to mention all kinds of bigotry. And I agree, when conservatives engage in this, they stoop to the level of leftists. The only difference is who has control of the media.

But I am surprised that there is such overlap in admins between FR and CF. Interesting. That might help explain the irrational intolerance for disagreement about women or “church” (while they simultaneously tolerate all kinds of heresy and mean-spiritedness). The thing that pushed me out for good was the moderators, as I explained in my “hamster wheel” article. How the blazes can anyone so badly twist what someone says, and do it repeatedly?

    Check this out: http://www.christianforums.com/blogs/u7253-e70376/

I could rip that blog post to shreds, but he’s already gotten far too much attention here. He has named me and vilified me there, though I never divulged his real (full) name here (or his address, phone, line of work, or sneering and vulgar response to people who request the old song “Free Bird”). I’ve had nothing to hide but he always uses his pseudonym. I noticed also that he has gone to the years-old thread at CBS and protested that somebody there was posting under HIS fake name (!!) and ruining HIS reputation! That’s just pathetic.

But I don’t mind him giving me free publicity. People will come here and find out the other side of the story– the side CF can’t hide and ‘fool couldn’t intimidate me into erasing for the sake of his pseudo-reputation.
To me, it has just become an exciting, fun challenge. I honed my Calvinist teeth in Free Republic, where there was a time when the Religion Forum was a rollicking, free-for-all, a regular punch-fest.

I learned how to take it, and how to give it. I learned how to insult someone subtly, how to read someone’s pedigree nicely, and how to cut to the heart of a matter. As I said, it was a verbal punch-fest, so these wimps in Soteriology wouldn’t have lasted a day there. I can’t use but maybe 20% of the methods I learned, or I would be perma-banned in less than a day. As it is, I have had action against me by the mods here, some deserved, and some not.
Why do CF staff allow this ? It does not make sense.

We have a way of dealing with that request….it involves several of us in the band raising our middle fingers, and yelling back, “here’s your free bird!” The rest of the audience laughs, and we carry on with what we’re going to play, which certainly isn’t that overplayed song. Besides, I’ve never heard a cover band do that song correctly, they all slaughter it, badly”

Is this not hypocrisy in the most extreme ?

Also it seems like this guy has violated the law in publishing private information. Apart from religious and racial hate crimes on several web sites. Can anything be done to stop this ?

I was once the victim of internet crime when a nutter threatened me via ‘Friends Reunited’ . I took it to the police who nailed offender. ‘fool deserve the same treatment IMO.

  • http://www.fether.net Paula Fether

Good question, BlackAdder. Why indeed does CF put up with this, every day, from ‘fool and all the Calvinists? One would almost think they approve… interesting.

As for his severely hypocritical (psychotic?) behavior, I’d have to call my lawyer first to see if I have a case. I certainly never made any effort to keep people from connecting my CF name with my blog, so I’m actually more bothered by his going out of his way to Whois to find my business address (now hidden and changed). So he’s already cost me the price of private domain registration and I will include that with any compensatory damages should the need arise to prosecute him.

I’d hate to go “class action”, but maybe a group effort would be what it takes to stop him from stalking, threatening, and claiming a pseudonym as some kind of legal property. That blog post of his… I agree, it’s a jaw-dropping display of denial and double standards. If he truly believes what he wrote, he is in dire need of counseling.

  • Black Adder

Quote “I’d have to call my lawyer first to see if I have a case”

You sure have it tough in the US. I am in the UK and on reporting ‘fool to the local police would be all that is needed. Religious and racial hatred is a big issue and political hot potato. A show case trial has just completed of the murder of a young innocent black man. Also an ongoing investigation into hacking and stalking.

‘fool would definitely get locked up.

Maybe US citizens could start an internet petition or something.

Peace and blessings to you all.

  • http://www.fether.net Paula Fether

We actually have some laws against “cyber bullying”, but they would require a history of it. ‘fool threatened me once so he’d have to do it at least once more I think. But seeing as how I have him locked out for the time being, and since it doesn’t appear that anyone’s life is in danger, I’d have to show significant financial loss or mental duress. And I can assure him that I’m not losing any sleep over this. In the US we tend to let people say what they want (though that is changing, and very inconsistently applied) and only call the cops if our identity is stolen, our (REAL) reputation is being ruined, etc. I honestly don’t think that enough people are reading his diatribes such that he’s turning multitudes against me. Heck, if he wants to give me a bad name, he’ll have to take a number and get in line. ;-)

And it does continue…Someone named BlueBlueKitty claims that I have “blown a gasket” here, by writing down what is going on, and my thoughts about it. I saw this stuff on wwwdot fether dot net /2012/01/15/the-hamster-roars which is what prompted me to come back here.Black Adder is having an ongoing cow about something that he claims to have gotten from one of my posts in CF, but that post does not exist. Is this the famous ‘NBF punch fest’ quote ? I think it is and even though it got deleted it was replaced by the ‘tool of satan’ quote. I raise this for two reasons. Lots of reformed Christians read it, took offense which is how it got broadcast in the first place. More importantly, God knows. Its no good saying there is no evidence. The sin has been commited and there is no repentance. When Black Adder was right about something, I acknowledged it. I never “had it in” for the guy, but it is clear that he “has it in” for me.I think you nailed this guy into the ground first and made an enemy. Hence his comments on fether dot net”Two wrongs don’t make a right”, and even if I were as bad as they complain, they are violating the Scriptural injunction against vengeance. “Vengeance is mine, I will repay”, saith the Lord. They are trying to exact vengeance on me because I and others like me have decimated them in discussions in the Soteriology Forum, we have shown their anti-Calvinist false doctrines to be unscriptural, and their tactics hateful. NBF, you are world famous for this. Three wrongs don’t make a right either. A lot of people came on to this site for entertainment, least that was alleged on a you tube clip.I won’t make that judgment, but God will.Same comment as above. Self righteousness won’t cut itI am not perfect. I have said things in the past that I shouldn’t have said, or at least not said in the way that I did. They show no tolerance or forbearance for those things, no understanding that they are just as flawed and guilty, if not more so, than I amWorks both ways. You cut no slack and caused a heap of trouble on your self, and CF.

I’ll try and be succint.Genuine UNCONDITIONAL repentance is required. Not yeah, sorry but…”I am right you think….”Wont help one bit. In fact just make things fester.Luke 1810 “Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 11 The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other people—robbers, evildoers, adulterers—or even like this tax collector. 12 I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.’I subtly insult peopleI have my rights (others don’t)I like a PUNCH FESTI am right.I am the watchman.I will never repent.I am too big for thatI am ….I…I….I…..13 “But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’14 “I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”Surely, no further comment needed, Christian !

I think he’s blown more than a gasket.

If I had known CF harbored obsessives and narcissists and stalkers, I’d never have gone near the place. This only serves to steel my resolve to stay far away from “Christian” boards. This is the sort of thing that convinces anti-theists that all Christians are fakes and loons.
